Long-Term Care Programs Supporting Self-Direction.

Self-direction puts you in charge of choosing and managing your Direct Care Workers. Lori Knapp Choice™ provides support so that you can focus on what makes life enjoyable.

We offer Financial Management Services (FMS). We do this through self-direction in two of Wisconsin’s long-term care programs:

Family Care

Family Care is a Medicaid long-term managed care program. The program serves older adults and adults with disabilities. The goal is to get people the services they need to live in homes and communities for as long as possible. Learn more about Family Care.

Children’s Long-Term Support

The Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program provides services for children and their families. This includes individuals under the age of 22 with significant developmental, physical, or emotional disabilities. Supports and services are available to help participants and their families remain in their home or community. Learn more about CLTS.

For both of these long-term care programs, our services include:
  • Maintaining an extensive database of in-home Direct Care Workers
  • Coordinating enrollment paperwork for Direct Care Workers and participants
  • Processing background checks for Direct Care Workers
  • Tracking time, processing timesheets, and administering payments
  • Providing electronic timesheet submission
  • Withholding and filing applicable payroll taxes for you and your Direct Care Worker(s)
  • Communicating with your Care Manager and others to assist as your needs change
  • Providing access to payroll reports through our web portal
  • Supporting compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations
  • Providing Workers Compensation for your Direct Care Worker(s), if necessary
