Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)

What is Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)?

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is a system used to confirm when and where certain Medicaid-funded services are provided. Federal law requires EVV to help make sure Participants receive their services and that visits are recorded accurately.

Direct Care Workers use EVV to clock in and out when providing services. The system records the date, time, location, type of service, and who provided and received the service.

In Wisconsin, EVV is required for certain services provided by non-live-in Direct Care Workers. EVV helps Participants, Direct Care Workers, and support teams keep accurate records of services.

Clock in and out on CareTime with the correct codes or use telephony.

What if I don’t have a smart phone or tablet?

The telephony option allows you to call in your clock in and out on a telephone. You must call from the authorized landline number on the Participant’s CareTime account.

What if I do not have internet/mobile data access?

The telephony option allows you to call in your clock in and out on a telephone. You must call from the authorized number on the Participant’s CareTime account.

What if I clock in a few minutes early or a few minutes late?

Contact Lori Knapp Choice™ to make any edits. However, editing a shift means it is no longer 100% compliant with the EVV requirement.

Yes.
