Whether you are looking for a new career, interested in becoming a Direct Care Worker, or already providing support services, the CDCP program offers free online training, professional certification, and financial incentives to help you grow your skills and opportunities.

What is the CDCP Program?
The Certified Direct Care Professional (CDCP) Program is a free online training and certification program developed through a partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Direct Care Workers learn essential skills needed to support older adults and individuals with disabilities in home and community-based settings.
The training is self-paced and can typically be completed in approximately 20 to 40 hours.

What Does A Certified Direct Care Worker Do?
Certified Direct Care Workers help individuals maintain independence and quality of life by providing support such as:
- Personal care assistance
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Meal preparation
- Household assistance
- Transportation and errands
- Community participation and social engagement
- Support for older adults and individuals with disabilities
Direct Care Workers may work in:
- Private homes
- Adult family homes
- Community-based residential settings
- Assisted living facilities
- Other home and community-based service environments
Financial Incentives
Qualified Direct Care Workers may be eligible to receive:
- $250 after completing certification and obtaining employment with an eligible provider
- An additional $250 after six months of employment
These bonuses are provided through the CDCP program and are not paid by the Participant.
